North Green Association‘s initiative project “Welcome to work in Tourism” financed by Youth National Agency with the main goals to capacity building in Tourism, adventure sector.
DESCRIPTION
This project aims to train and inform young people about opportunities in the adventure tourism sector by equipping them with practical skills, industry knowledge, and entrepreneurial competencies. The initiative focuses on developing capacities in outdoor leadership, safety and risk management, customer service, sustainable tourism practices, and environmental responsibility.
Through workshops, field-based training, mentoring, and experiential learning activities, participants gain hands-on experience in adventure guiding, activity coordination, and tourism service delivery. The project also raises awareness about career pathways, local and international tourism trends, and self-employment opportunities within the adventure tourism industry.
By strengthening youth employability and promoting sustainable tourism practices, the project contributes to economic development, environmental conservation, and community engagement in rural and urban areas.
Responsibility: Lack of information and practice in adventure sports
Collaboration: Lack of cooperation of the multiple actors — public institutions, private operators, training providers, and local communities — to strengthen capacity building, improve quality standards, enhance collaboration, and promote sustainable development strategies.
Environment impact: Promote environmentally responsible tourism practices by integrating sustainability principles into training programs. Encourage conservation, waste reduction, climate awareness, and responsible use of natural resources to minimize negative environmental impacts.
Activism and awareness:
One of the key barriers to the growth of the adventure tourism sector is the lack of activism and public awareness. Limited promotion of sustainable tourism opportunities, insufficient community engagement, and low visibility of the sector’s economic and environmental benefits reduce interest among young people, investors, and policymakers.
